HMG Safety, Health and Environment Strategy
The HMG Group Safety, Health and Environment Strategy forms an integral part of HMG's desire to develop and maintain a base in which each operating unit and its working environment receive a common approach to achieve our vision of creating an environment friendly, sustainable, injury free and healthy work environment for all people who enter HMG's workplaces.
Our Safety and Health Objectives
The principles that underpin HMG's approach to safety and health are:
- safety and health comes first, always.
- incidents and injuries are preventable.
- every individual:
- is accountable for the safety of themselves and others.
- is intolerant of unsafe practices and conditions.
- must identify, assess and manage / mitigate hazards.
- there is active involvement and open communication on safety and health at all levels.
- HMG will continually improve the safety and health capabilities of our people.
Our Environmental Objectives
In implementing this strategy HMG will:
- ensure that environmental considerations form part of HMG business planning and decision-making processes whilst promoting a culture of responsible environmental management.
- protect the natural environment and social surroundings, preserve biodiversity, prevent pollution and minimise waste.
- comply with applicable environmental laws and aspire to higher standards within the group.
- continually improve environmental performance whilst communicating openly with transparently to stakeholders on environmental matters.
- engage the community in environmental initiatives aligned with HMG company values.
